Research Interests
I have a broad range of research interests, and I am especially interested in ecology and statistical analysis.
I love working with data and the prospect of taking a dataset and making it meaningful excites me. I have also always loved fish and relish opportunities to work with them or other ocean-related research, whether that is in the field or behind a screen analyzing data.

Field /Lab Experience
While most of my research projects have been statistical or meta-analytical in type, I worked as a Teaching and Instrument Laboratory Technician at Concordia University (2021-2022). In this position I was responsible for organizing, maintaining, and running weekly lab sessions for a general biology course.
I have also had several opportunities to get involved in field work and have taken several field courses. Some of my field and lab experience includes:
I have also had several opportunities to get involved in field work and have taken several field courses. Some of my field and lab experience includes:
- Fish sampling (assisting with electrofishing; measuring, weighing, taking fin clip samples, stripping eggs, taking sperm)
- Rearing fish (monitoring temperatures, water quality, fish health; maintaining tanks; spawning fish in lab conditions)
- Habitat assessment (e.g. stream velocity, percent vegetation cover, number of plant species, pH, dissolved oxygen content)
- Beach seining
- Underwater Visual Census
Meta-Analysis - Vertebrate Population & Genetic Diversity |

My PhD research under Dylan Fraser included:

Stochastic Modeling - Salmon & Dams

(2013-2014)

As part of my independent research project during my BSc at Dalhousie University, I:
- Created an empirically-based model to estimate population persistence
- Assessed several dam scenarios in the model (e.g. number of dams and dam-passage survival)
- Estimated of the probability of population growth being <0 as estimated by r
